Put in the Work

Today is.....REST DAY. yes and Friday too, which makes it even better.
After the grueling two workouts Tues and Weds (Fran and Chipper), Olympic Weightlifting last night was exactly what I needed.

Warm-up (Runs, high-knees, butt kicks, bear crawl etc.)
Footwork Drills
Jerk Progression i.e.
Shoulder Press
Push Press
Push Jerk
Split Jerk

Stayed after class to work on my cleans (FINALLY got my PR #105, a weight I have been struggling with for a while)

A lot of people look at crossfit and at life in a lot of ways as a race, to finish, to get the fastest time, the most reps, as a means to an end. I'm starting to realize it's about so much more than that. I can do 100 cleans at a decent weight and I will get in a workout, but if I don't work on the skill and the proper movement, I'll never get stronger. You have to put in the work to get the results and it has to be the right work. The kind that teaches you and improves on what you've already got, the kind that pushes you to your limits

[the outfit I wore to our Crossfit Westchester girls night, and me (yes, I love taking pictures) after Fran the other night being a tool and taking pictures] What better than to look good in your favorite clothes because you work your ass off at Crossfit? ]
